Evaporative Cooling

<span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">Evaporative cooling pads are the most effective and efficient systems for maintaining ideal temperatures and humidity levels within poultry agrihouses to reduce heat stress on birds.<span data-metadata="">

Water evaporation from evaporative cooling pads can alter both the temperature and humidity. The evaporative cooling pads cool the air as it is pulled through the pad by the tunnel ventilation fans, and create a much lower air-pressure drop which allows for greater ventilation rates.

This in turn requires fewer fans to be in operation at one time, which results in lower energy costs and superior bird performance.

AFI offers three different framing options for evaporative cooling:

  • <span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">Aluminum channel framing - open type with submersible pump and sump pit
  • <span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">PVC framing - closed-type system with 45/95 or 45/15 flute with or without black outside coating
  • <span data-metadata=""><span data-buffer="">Chore-time Turbo-Cool™ system - a closed system, one-piece trough. It is in all-in- one frame and cooling pad system with DuraTherm Cooling Pads

I-TYPE CONFIGURATION

A I-type configuration has two lengths of cooling pads, on opposite side walls of the building.

U-TYPE CONFIGURATION

A U-type configuration has three lengths of cooling pads: one on each side wall, and one on the end wall of the building.

Z-TYPE CONFIGURATION

A Z-type configuration has zig-zag arranged cooling pads along the end wall of the building. The advantage of this configuration is the large SQM of pad opening.
